Where are there police auto auctions in the MD DC VA area?

Any ideas where I can get a car for less than ,000 under 70,000 millage that is a 2004 and up?
(no ebay or craigslist)

I’ve been looking on craigslist for cheap cars which are also reliable.
However, I’m not sure craigslist would be the best place to find one,
because you never know what could possibly be wrong with them.
I have about 700 $ to spend on a car, and was wondering if that’s enough for a running,
decent looking car.
I’m not looking for something new just dependable .
Any one know some places near chicago where i should look?

so ive been looking for a used car to buy, but im not sure where to start. there are a lot of adds on craigslist that keep popping up about the govt auto auctions, where cars are sold rly rly cheap. my question is…does it work? is it a credible site? or would i be better off just visiting nearby auto auctions, and if so, where can i find them?

I don’t want to buy from a dealer cuz it’s soo sleazy. I see that there are a lot of cars on craigslist for cheap, like under or around 1000 dollars. What questions should I ask about the car that are important when deciding to buy? I konw that with a car this cheap I cant be too picky. Should I have a carfax done on the kinda car? Any major warning signs other than the car not running or some aweful noise? Thanks!
